It's summer-it's summertime!

I love summertime. I love the sun, going to a pool, to a beach, to a BBQ. Summer is my season. Having Davy has changed summertime, I really am not getting to do all the things I love. So in order for our kids not to have a bummer summer, Scott came up with a plan. Now for those of you who know my better half, you truly know he is indeed my better half. If I get into heaven it is purely by riding on his coattails. It's the truth and we all know it. Scott sat down with the boys and planned fun stuff for us all to do at home. He was trying to have a different theme for each day. I have to admit when he came up with this plan I was thinking, " yeah right, like I will be able to do any of this. This is going to send me over the edge.'' But he is so patient with me and my grumblings. He will make sure that the boys will have a decent summer. This day was "Art Day" We got out a bunch of paint and painted the wall in our back yard. The boys loved it. I think Harper loved it the most. Who gives their 2 year old a bucket of paint to play with? In a matter of minutes he was covered head to toe in grey paint. He was in heaven. We still can't get that paint off of him. He looks pretty white trash, dirty kid. Ahhh summertime.

Summer fun is more of a state of mind than a place to arrive. I love it. What a great Dad and husband Ruth. I hope you were able to dive into the painting, too. Such cute pictures.

wow. I can only imagine what my 2 year old would look like if I gave him a bucket of paint. I love your boys hair. It was always my dream to have a boy with that hair cut. But we have been predestined for the fohawk. Thanks for letting us read your blog even though you don't know us.

You may have already mentioned this but I'm new. Where do you get all of Davy's adorable clothes?! She's the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Well, the pictures are very cute! But what about Davy? Did she get into the action? Probably not, especially with all of those cute clothes. lol As for the paint, you may remember that my husband (David Church) is an artist, [www.outersketcher(dot)com is his website if you care to take a look, just put a period where I wrote the (dot) part] Anyway, if you really want to get the paint off your boy, I'm afraid you'll just have to wait a couple of weeks for his skin to rub off (you know that we lose a layer of skin a day or something like that). Maybe not even that long. You might also try some sort of organic paint thinner (regular paint thinner/turpentine is just TOO caustic for people, especially little 2 year old boys), from somewhere like Home Depot, just make sure you tell them that you are trying to 'de-paint' a kid. Other than that, the best solution is to just wait and hope he doesn't mind all that much. I hope he had lots of fun, because it sure looked like it!
