Prayers work

When I walked into the NICU today, this is what I saw. No tubes, no breathing machines. Just my Davy girls sweet little face. I heard her cry. I saw her suck on a pacifier. She even pooped for the first time since her surgery. She had a teaspoon of my milk through her G -tube. But the best part of today was........ I got to hold her. I held her for hours and she was awake and alert for most of it. Today I caught a glimpse of her coming home.

Ruth! I am so happy that Davy is doing better...I stumbled across your blog and am so happy I did...even though you won't be doing my hair anymore, it's nice to be able to see how things are going. Davy has the most beautiful eyes.

Just a few days earlier when I saw our precious Davy hooked to so many machines, I was afraid that she wouldn't be here that much longer...It was such a wonderful experince to walk in the nicu and see you holding her. I am so glad you let it be a surprice for me!

And then to hear her cry and see her follow you with hers eyes when you spoke...I still get choked up just thinking about it.

I still can't figure out how to pronounce her name... is it like Dave- ee or is it Dav - ee. Confusing for me, but not to you, and yet a cute name either way. I'm glad she is doing better, and the boys (well, some of them, got to see her). I still remember both of us having our first boys on the same day, although we didn't realize it until the next day when my husband came and told me you were just down the hall. March 5th birthdays rock! The black and white photos were just awesome, too. I love how we get to see dad there too! Usually he doesn't get in the pictures, I've noticed. Sorry this is so long, but your precious family touches my heart and just had to let you know....
