and the Emmy goes to........

Sesame Street?!!! Every-single-time-they-were-in-a-category they stinkin won! Like I think they won like 10 awards with the same dude excepting all of them. They have won best preschool show straight since 1998. So if we were going to lose, at least it was to them, right?
I sent out a text and this picture to our family saying, can you guess who won?

I guess I kinda started with the end of our night. SO let's jump back to 4 pm when we were leaving. First things first, my dress....garage sale, $5-- cha-ching! I scored 2 cute dresses from this cute grandma, so I'm covered now for fancy events. Also a big thanks to Julia for doing my hair and makeup and letting me use your shoes.
This was me saying, I really think your gonna win tonight. I married a winner, I married a winner!!
This was only 5 minutes in to my night and I was already regretting wearing spanx. Soo not worth feeling like a stuffed sausage. Was that TMI? Oh well, don't care, Spanx suck.
Also I realize I'm not the best in high heels, as I almost just did a face plant.

Thanks to Wildbrain, we had "a car" pick us up. It really is kinda fun being carted around. Next time I want to go with all the Gabba crew, but in a stretch hummer limo, so over the top ridiculous.
The best part of this years Emmy's was having Scott's parents with us. They had me laughing the entire show. Harry has classic one liner Dad jokes and Nancy gives the best live commentary.
You can always count on Lance to have the coolest suit in the room.
Me and my lady friends.
This was Scott's favorite part of the night. We actually really are big Sesame Street fans. He especially loves Caroll Spinney, the puppeteer and voices of Oscar and Big Bird. Scott highly recommends his autobiography, The Wisdom of Big Bird (and the Dark Genius of Oscar the Grouch): Lessons from a Life in Feathers. He LOVES this book.

After the very long(and slightly boring) show, we went to the Nickelodeon after party. Now this was fun. It was on the roof top of some club and the whole Nick family was there. Oh and they had some yummy appetizers and you know how I love me some free food.
The real bummer of the night was when I dropped my IPhone and it shattered all the way to it's brains. I have had that phone for 2 years and dropped it a bazillion times and never a scratch.
SO I drowned my sorrows in a Diet coke with lime and McDons Ice cream.
Next year, your going down Sesame!!!

That dress is AMAZING! And it makes it even a million times sweeter that it was $5. What a fun and fabulous evening you had!

My kids just discovered Yo Gabba Gabba and they love it. Sorry your husband didn't win. You look awesome in your dress. Glad you at least had fun.

Gorgeous dress, that shot of you looking out of the car looks like one of those classic movies.
As for next year those sesame street puppets look small, surely Muno could give them the eye or Brobee could sort them out in the toilets beforehand. Unless they bring Big Bird... if they bring Big Bird you'll definitely need the strech hummer.

Yowzah! You look like a supermodel in that dress. (I want to go to garage sales in *your* neighbourhood!) Also whoever took you pictures did a smashing job - love the portrait of you in the car. Next time, take the Spanx off after the photo session. ;-)

Booooo, Sesame Street! I think it's interesting that it won - I don't know a single kid nowadays that watches it. My son much prefers Gabba (and especially Brobee).

But KUDOS to you and your $5 dress! That is smokin', go grandma for selling it (and buying it originally, she must have been stylish as heck.)

This was such a cute post that I had to show my husband. My 17 month old has just discovered Yo Gabba and goes bonkers when it is on. I love it because it is one of the few shows that both my 4 yr old and baby will happily watch together. You are HUGE winners in our book!

You look fantastic!

I made my 3 year old come in to see the picture of DJ Lance because I'm pretty sure she is in love with him. Now she is very impressed with my connections. As if reading the mommy blog of someone who has no idea who I am makes me connected. Ha!

And... is one of your lady friends named Leslie? And has done a Dancey Dance on the show?

I broke my iphone's brains, too. So sorry!

Your dress was amazing! My friend Kevin won an award for the Ellen show. I saw pics of him with Oscar the Grouch (his favorite part of the night). Who doesn't love Sesame Street? Then again who doesn't love Yo Gabba Gabba? I'm sure next year will be the lucky one. Glad you got a night out with your sweetheart :)
