C Jane on my couch

I have to admit I was a little nervous about Courtney coming to my house. I definitely don't have the house for entertaining. Try fitting 6 people, a dog and hospital equipment in a 900 square foot home. Your house quickly becomes a house of convenience. The only thing I could think to do was burn my Aveda candle I've been hoarding, maybe it would work magical powers on my yellow shack. I have to say I feel silly for even thinking that now. Courtney was the nicest person ever. It felt like we were old friends just catching up on life. In fact after reading her post about our lady date, maybe she is the nicest person ever.
What Courtney didn't tell you...........................
1. that I talk WAY too much. I'm like a hyper 12 year old at a slumber party. When the poor thing was trying to leave, my mouth would not let her. I just kept jibber jabbering.
2. My kids......wow, they were , well....my kids. Harper was dressed as Buzz lightyear trying to go to infinity and beyond. Ollie was saying uncalled for comments like how he wished Harper didn't exist. And Max, Max walked right on by them, no hello, no nothing. Just straight to the computer. Add the comedy of my nephew in law, Ryan and you got yourself as sitcom.

But what Ms. C Jane didn't tell me was........
1. She has a TON of readers. And they are just as kind as she is. I have had the most amazing words of encouragement, advice, and inspiration. I have also been amazed by how many Mom's are in similar situations to mine. I am indeed not alone. So thank you everyone.

And Dad if you are wondering what the heck I'm talking about. Click here to read some kind words about your youngest child (and to mothers everywhere).

I must admit, I have been reading your blog for weeks now, ever since Courtney first directed us to it. You and your family are amazing and inspiring. Thanks for your wonderful example! I love little Davy and think of her often. I am an older mom of 5. Four grown daughters and my last child, my only boy, is just starting high school. He has challenges of his own that have turned our family on it's heels over the last few years. Anxiety disorder and O.C.D. have been a real learning experience for us. I don't blog about him too much because of his age. I don't want to embarrass him. But reading about other mothers who face trials with faith and humor always helps me so much!

Blessings to you and your family!

I am another one who came her via Cjanes blog, I immediate read back through the months back to Davy's birth. You are a beautiful, humorous mother and woman, I will continuing to follow your journey. We have small challenges in our lives too, I enjoy your spirit and open telling of your story, you'll definitely be on my evening blog roll.

Courtney's sister Lucy is my friend from way back in high school. I remember the day when she told us that Courtney went off to Vegas and got married. It was pretty dramatic. Courtney is pretty rad and totally normal.

And of course Ryan is there. OF COURSE.

I think the two of you were meant to be friends. I came here by way of CJ.
I admire your love for your family. I adopted a special needs child. His needs were in learning and behavior. It takes alot of love to get through some days.
So prayers for you and your family and sweet Davy.

I found CJane's blog through her sister, Nienie's blog. And I found you, through CJane. This has been said before, but I'll say it again...all three of you women are AMAZING!!! You're all so inspirational. I have an eight year old daughter with special needs and I'll admit that quite often I have days that I think to myself, I just can't do this anymore. But then I remember all of you. I really do. I take a deep breath...and I carry on. Following your blogs has helped me stay strong.

Add another reader who came here through CJane. You are both amazing, inspirational women with adorable families. Anyone would be lucky to be friends with the two of you. Keep on blogging. You are officially on my 'favorites' list, and my day isn't complete without checking in.

As usual I love your post. I had no idea until today after reading some others comments that your husband was a creator of Yo Gabba Gabba. How neat! What I was most shocked about was that in all this time I have been following your blogs you have never boast about it...Youre simply *the mom*...always boasting about your beutiful children and your day to day life. Its wonderful!! =)

Wow, I have had a crazy few weeks and haven't had time to do a lot of Blog reading... you have a lot of fans! I am a firm believer that goods things come out of bad situations. It is pretty cool to have a little sister (and cute little niece) that is touching so many people!

Wow! How cool is that! Remember when I told you that you would reach a lot more parents of special needs children than I have? Hate to say I told you so. Seriously though, I am proud of you for putting Davy's story out there so that other people in similar situations wouldn't feel totally alone. I hope it helps you to feel like you are helping others. I know that you have helped me.

I haven't commented in awhile but I hope your weekend "alone" went well. I also loved the picture of the 2 eggs sunny side up. I didn't even need to read the post to know what it was about! Way to hang in there as long as you did. Davy will be the better for all of that hard work!
