Like Davy's new look? For the pass couple of weeks we have been taping Davy's skin to stretch it. This will give the surgeon a little more to work with when it comes time for her lip and nose repair. This is definitely a two man job. One to hold her down, while the other tapes up her face. Ahhhh.... there is nothing like holding your screaming baby down, so much fun. I have to chant to myself, this is necessary, this is necessary. It's the only way I get through it. Once the tape is on she mellows out, so I don't think it's too uncomfortable. Although, her skin is all red and chapped when we ever so gently pull the tape off.
Of course Scott is the master tape artist. We have tried many different ways. This darn tape is expensive and combine her throw up with her mega watt smile and the tape lasts an hour max. But Scott has came up with his patented double cross technique and it is lasting most of the day. Now she is an undercover clefty.

Could she be cuter?
No, I thought not.
so much love goes in to that taping. It will be so worth it Ruth. Bradley wore a corrective helmet 23 hours a day when he was a baby, during the summer in Bakersfield. Talk about a hot, sweaty baby. He had so many baths. There were times when I wondered if the helmet was worth it. Now I look at his little round head and think, "One of the best things we ever did for him." Hang in there, friend!
haha i love that look on her face, she's like "WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!". such a cute little bug.
If she ever gets a break from the tape, try putting some of the lanolin nipple cream on her face. It worked wonders for my baby's skin from his oxygen stickers and also for my boy who likes to lick his lips! Good luck!
she is gorgeous ... tape and all.
She is the cutest little bug ever....tape and all. You are good parents!!!
I'm a blog stalker or is it lurker? I don't know.
Just wanted to tell you Davy is a doll.
The first time the nurse taped my son I cried. The first time I taped him, I cried. Now, I have taped him while standing in the check out at TJMaxx. :)
woah, good job. The things we come up with...
Even cute with tape.
That's impressive.
:)
Never seen tape look so fabulous. Who needs lipstick? Tape is the new black. :)
Her expression is priceless.
(another found-via-cjane)
Feeding tube tape on my baby's face broke her skin & my heart.
But 8 years later! A full year without a feeding tube :). Lovely to have these baby tortures in the past...
Mama's heart of steel: a hard place to be.
I just want to eat her! (In a totally normal baby eating way of course.) There is so much life in Davy's eyes!
I also wish I lived near you, we could be best friends I promise! :)
that's a good chant to use. um but do you just die over her b/c she is so cute? why can i imagine this 2 man show of putting on the tape? love it. you can tell that she is so sweet...and i love that you have so many awesome pictures. and i love that you are so faithful to america's next top model. i wonder if rebecca should watch that...hmmmm.:)
It will get better, I promise!!

She looks so cute! and she looks like she is just going with it....we had some chap problems and found that good old fashioned chapstick worked...its cheap and portable-can be applied anywhere you are!...and there is no sting for her.
oh there are some jobs you just have to leave to daddy!
she still looks adorable and she actually looks happy in this photo but I'm sure there are tears!
Corrie:)
She is soooo cute! Hang in there during those taping times.
