Let them eat cake

I have to say Harper did not disappoint in the eating of his first cupcake! He was not shy about it. He dove right in and pounded that thing in 1 minute.

This is the point where he realized that cupcakes are way better then that other crap he'd been eating.

I 've been trying to do "baby sign" with Harper. This is the sign he made up for food. He blows air in and out(like we do for his hot food) So basically he is asking for cake #2.
Meanwhile Franco is eating like a perfect gentleman. I don't think he even finished one.

Seriously the kid loved his cupcakes. He couldn't contain his joy. I guess he takes after his Mom.
Sometimes I feel like acting this way after I eat Sprinkles.

Birthday part 2

Working with Sarah on this party was a blast. Partly because it forced us to hang out and we also got to be crafty!  Ready for some details......We had little carnie games with prizes, Popcorn, swirly suckers, bounce house (thanks to Cathy), plenty of balloons(Thanks Beth and Amber!) and thanks to my in-laws for the nice catering supplies. It's so funny to go all out for a 1 year old cuz he couldn't have cared less. But hey I like to party and it's a nice excuse to hang out with my Homies.

I don't know if you have noticed But I have taken the word verification off my comments. I have not had any weird advertisement comments or anything. I strongly recommend taking it off. I have to admit I get so annoyed with them. Partly cuz I have bad vision so I never see the words right, so it takes me forever to leave a comment. So try it out for a week. If you don't like it put it back on. C' mon do it for me.

The Harper and Franco Circus!!!

This Saturday was Harper's First Birthday Party! We had a joint Party with Franco. It was so much fun to throw a party with someone else. I highly recommend it. It made it way less stressful and alot more fun. Of course I took a TON of pictures so for those of you who were not there you are now invited via blog. The next couple of posts will all be birthday(sorry).

This was what you saw right when you came in. Get it ? Popcorn...circus.
I thought we were pretty clever.

Harper started off the day kinda of crabby. I swear all my kids at their first birthday party were that way. Overstimulated I guess. He got in a better mood after I gave him some pizza.

A date with my baby

Last night I went on a Hot date with my Man! It was so much fun to get some much needed one on one time with Max. Time is going by so fast. Soon he will be turning 8 and getting baptized. Then he'll be a teenager and will have to stop dating his Mom and date a girl.(not if I can help it) We started the night out at Target where Max bought some much needed Pokemon cards. Then we went home and tried to play the game .Which I am pretty sure Max was making it up as he went along.(he won)
When the game was over we went to Color Me Mine and painted some plates. Max picked out a special plate for a special persons birthday present. Then we went to Cold Stone and had dessert first!!!(cuz that's how I roll) *side-note* Have you all tried the tart and tangy yogurt there? Awesome and only 25 calories!!! After dessert we had dinner at a pizza place that has individual TVS, so we could watch spongebob while we ate. It was so much fun! I am going to try to do this regularly.

Road trip day 2

This was the day that the boys went to Mitchell caverns in the Mojave desert. Apparently these are the only caves with stalagmites and stalactites in California. Unfortunately the caves weren't Harper friendly so I stayed in Vegas with my sister, while Scott took the boys and cousin Jacob to the caves. Being that I was not there for this trip I am going to have Max and Scott say a few words.
Max- Well, I learned that when stalagmites and stalactites meet together they are called columns. It was a big cave so I got bored of it since it was sooooo long.  So far I think that it was my perfect day!
Me- What was your favorite part?
Max- When we got to climb on the rings.(see pictures below)
Me- So what do you have to say about the trip?
Scott- We had a tour guide through the caves and Max made the guy work for his money. He had a question about everything. It made the tour alot more interesting.

Inside the caverns. The guide said it takes 100 years for the stalagmites and stalactites to grow
1 inch!

The infamous rings. When the boys came home and I asked them how their trip was, all they talked about were these rings.
Please notice the difference between Jacob and my boys in these pics. My boys always looked so put out by the camera while Jacob smiled his biggest first grade picture smile.

road trip day 1

The first day of our road trip was spent at The Calico ghost town. It's a fun little trip you can take with the Fam on your way up to Vegas. We mined for gold(the boys think they're rich now), went on a really slow train ride, walked through the mines and had some sasparilla. We also went and got candy from the sweets shop. They had candy cigarettes in there. Remember those?!! I always wanted to buy them when I was a kid. Of course my mom would never let me. I can't believe they still make them. I kinda wanted to get them but now my husband wouldn't let me.

Ollie is smiling here but seconds before this he declared this ride boooooorrrrriiiinnnng! I think he was expecting thunder mountain at D-land.

Better late then never!

Sunday was this fine lady's birthday and I was not on the ball with my Ode to Amber. So like I said up there Better late then never...................
1. I feel a very close to Amber for so many reasons. Not only have I been her Sis-in-law but I've been her hairdresser for the past 14 years. I was the first to color her hair, first to chop it off short. I did her hair for every dance (including when she was prom queen) up to her hair for her wedding. I also took her shopping for the dresses for all those events!
2. Amber is one of those people you can talk to so easily. I have laughed, cried and complained to her alot. But why I really love her is cause it's not one sided. She tells me all her secrets too. She also will give you the best advice for most situations.
3. Amber is a DO-ER. She can do anything. And she usually makes look easy or fun. She is the reason I'm a blogger. She even helped me set up my account. She always womps up a girl movie night, or card night you name it.
4. She likes to have fun. She is the girl that will get up and dance on a bar at Coyote Ugly.
5. She sensitive and caring. I can always count on her to be the one crying with me at the movies, church or any other cry-worthy situation.
6. The girl knows the most random quotes from movies. And there usually said at just the right time to make you laugh.
5. She is an awesome Mom to 2 of the cutest kids ever. I love them like my own. I am so glad that they live so close so I can be a part of their lives. Ollie is obsessed with them.

I am so glad to have her in Cali for the next 2 years. It's already going by so fast. I'm hoping/praying to find a way to get them to stay.

You are NOT going to believe this!!!!!

He's baaaa-aaaaaaack!!!! Lil Mario has made his way back home. If you have know idea what I'm talking about read this. Now you know how crazy this is. Max came home from school and said Look who was trying to eat my lunch! Ollie squealed and I fell on the floor, laughing. I am kind of scared of this toy now. It is down right freaky how he keeps reappearing. Is it me or does he have a sinister look on his face?

12 MONTHS!!!!!!!

12 months went by way too fast. It makes me a little sad. When he was a newbie I was a total Harper Hog, I was always holding him, everyone complained. Well those days are over, I am now willing to share. So come on over. This Picture sesh I could not get Hoppy to smile at all. He was too into the cake. Oh well. Anyways here are his stats............
**6 teeth (more are coming)
**He has completely abandoned his lame army crawl for his proper up on all fours
** Therefor not even close to walking yet
** says uh-oh, dog, mama, Dada
** will not drink milk from a bottle(will drink yogurt)Does anyone know if soy milk is OK to give him?
**can stand on his own, but doesn't like too
**He gets into everything. Toilets, trash you name it.
You know by this time I kinda had my boys personalities pegged. I still don't have Harper figured out yet. I'm gonna miss doing these month pictures. Maybe I will do 18 months, what do you think?
