Remember me?

OK it's confession time. I am one of those girls that bought baby clothes before she had kids. Go ahead and make fun, Scott always did. If I saw something I loved and on sale, I would buy it. Call it a hobby, issue or as I would say "planning ahead". After I had my third boy, I came to the realization that I was never having a girl. So I got rid of my stash. All except one, this little red dress. I couldn't do it, I loved it too much. I have literally saved it for like 9 years. I told myself I would get rid of it after baby#4. Have to say, totally glad I held on to it. It actually makes me feel happy inside when she wears it. And now you get to make fun of me again.
Awww c'mon, how cute is clefty in a red bonnet.

In case your wondering, I got it from baby gap.

Glad you kept it. That will now be a keepsake that she will pass down to her daughter.

Such a sweet sweet dress, and are those stockings with shoes woven in as a pattern? Just adorable! Baby girl clothing really does seem to be extra swoon-worthy.

I won't tease you at all Ruth. I already bought toys for when I become a Grandma. They are stashed in my closet. Dave keeps trying to get rid of them. Not a chance.

Davy looks darling in her red dress and bonnet. Super cute. I'm glad you saved it.

That is the sweetest little dress and then you have to go and throw those super cute Mary Jane tights in....and you're killing me with the cuteness! She is just so cute!

Oh that dress is just absolutely adorable. I would have held onto it too.
Oh, and I bought some clothes before I was even MARRIED! (or dating anyone for that matter!)

I did the same thing in reverse, Ruth, only sadly I finally got rid of the little blue and white booties I bought for my future son. After our first baby (a girl) we were told we wouldn't have any more children. I held on to them, though. We had another daughter, miraculously, and then ANOTHER daughter (also miraculously, but by know I was convinced God was in control, not doctors). When we were certain we had used up all our alloted miracles...ha ha...I finally decided to give up the booties. Six months after the birth of our 3rd daughter came....our SON!! With no booties. ha ha :) LOVE the red dress -- good for you for keeping it! Love your little sweetie!

snap, before I even got engaged I'd buy cute kids stuff in london and france and stash it away. my hubby thought I was crazy but man Ive got some cute outfits. lots of gap and a bit of petit bateau including a linen christening gown that turned out to be so handy! lucky though I had 4 kids in 4 1/2 years so I've still needed to buy clothes and satisfy my addiction!

that dress & model is adorable, I can't bear to give away their good clothes just in case I have one more!

Ruth, I totally do the same thing! Madeleine has to direct me away from the baby girl clothes when we shop, cuz it's not like we can actually use them! I've got a box - OK, make that boxes - in the garage that I just can't figure out how to part with. And are you kidding me, a scalloped red bonnet?! So cute! It was made just for her.

One time I brought baby Melany to church in a red dress and an old lady told me red was too strong a color for babies. I almost said, "Nu uh" but that would have been immature. So I just smiled and admired my baby Mel Mel in her red red dress.
