Party at the Schultz house

The day before Ollie's Birthday we had a little family party at Grammy and Papa's house. I say little, but that means like 35 people. Mormons.....sheesh. Ollie had a blast. It doesn't take much for a 5 year old to be happy. I am trying to take advantage of this while I can. We had dinner courtesy of Bashful Butler catering. Then We had a blue(Ollie's fav color right now) funfetti cake with rainbow sherbet.
I tell my boys they can always tell mommy their wishes and they still come true. This year Ollie's wish was... that everyone will listen to him and give him a piece of gum too. The boy loves gum and I hardly ever let him have it. So I guess it's wish worthy.
Ollie's favorite gifts this year were his sword & shield from Katie and Ben, his Indiana Jones action figure from the Buhrleys and his Mario PJ's from Xoe & Xanthe.

                     The Magic Trick.
Be forewarned this post is PG-13. And no he doesn't know that what he did was bad. But me being like a 13 year old boy, thought it was hilarious and made him do his trick for everyone. Also know it is way more amazing live because of his dialogue and sound effects. I will try my best to recapture it for you, my blogger friends.

Ollie came up with this trick during sacrament on Sunday. He came up to me and said....

Do you see this? I will make it disappear!
Mumbling to himself...alright here you see it
                                                                      and......... (hold your applause)

                                                    PING!! (he really said Ping!)

                                                                                     And here it is!!

Your Welcome.

Happy Birthday Ollie!!!!

Since Ollie could talk he has said he was 5 years old, and today he is officially not lying anymore. This post has a gazillion pictures, it's not because I love him more, but we've always have had a digital camera with Ollie, so the pictures are more assessable. I hope you don't get bored, but I couldn't edit any out.

Ollie was born March 23, 2004 at 9:43pm. He weighed 8 pounds and was 20 inches. His labor was my easiest. As a baby he liked to be held. A lot.

I started the Month pictures with Ollie. (thanks to Amber) I've come a long way since then, huh.
Ollie has always had amazing hair. I am really jealous actually.
This is one of my favorite portraits of Ollie. He is One.

One of my favorite things about baby Ollie was, 1. He would play with your hair when you fed him(by breast or bottle). 2. He was a Mommas boy. I say was, cuz now he has turned to the dark side(Daddy's boy)

Ollie always makes you feel like a rock star when you come home. He always gets you with a happy shriek of "MOM!!!!"( or dad)It really makes you feel good about yourself.

This is one of our Christmas pictures. He has always been the model. But on his clock only. You can't force it or you will not get ONE picture, trust me. There are many grand kid pics where I'm holding him down screaming.

Oh Ollie. This says it All. When he was a toddler he was pretty angry all the time. I realize now his brain was to big for his little body. He was pretty mad that he couldn't communicate what he was thinking. When he'd get in trouble for something he would give us "the silent treatment". It would start with a dirty look, then he would go under the table, Point at you and mouth the words he would've liked to have said to you. Oh I miss those days. P.S these pics are when he got into my make up, then got mad at me for laughing.
There is nothing like Ollie's laugh. It is The cutest!

Ollie Loves his big brother Max. They are best friends. Max snubbed for years though. He said When Ollie turns 3, I'll ask him to be my friend and he'll say Yes. And it was true. I hope they remain this close forever.

There is so much to say about this boy. I am sure your bored by now, but I'm going on.
Ollie is my cuddle buddy. We love to get his blankie, snuggle on the couch and watch Spongebob. He gives the best kisses. He is really into the double kiss on the cheek
(think European style)He thought of it on his own too. He loves to be funny and perform.(on his terms)  Ollie's one wish  that he always wishes for is, that people will listen to him. 1. because he's bossy. 2. Cuz he likes the attention. When he grows up he wants to be a Director(like his Dad). That pretty much means he will have people listening to him all day, his dream come true! By the way, now that Ollie his 5 he wants to be 10.
I love you shorty. You really have no idea how much.
Thanks to you who braved through this long post. C'mon it was worth, right?

Thank you everybody!!

After Max's baptism everyone headed for the Schultz house for dinner and cake. The affair was the size of a small wedding. And the food? The food was so good!! Can I say I am glad my Father in law didn't pursue law!! He is such an amazing caterer. He can put a party on like no ones business! When talking about food for the dinner I was thinking sandwiches or spaghetti. But oh no, Harry grilled steaks!! He even hired two workers to help with the food.  Amber and Nan made yummy salads to make the meal perfect!! I can't thank you enough guys. It made it so I could really enjoy the day stress free. Max had fun with all of his cousins. He got so many cool presents that he loved. Thanks to you who traveled long distances to be there with us. You made the day extra special!!!
Xoe and Xanthe came up with idea to tell Max we couldn't have a party anymore so we could "surprise" Max . And he totally fell for it.
Max with both sets of grandparents
Max blew out his candles during the middle of the birthday song. I guess he didn't want to wait any longer to open his presents.

Aunt Katie made him this sword and shield. he loved it. Ollie was really jealous.
Ryan was kind enough to do " Mr. Happy". If you don't know what that is, your gonna have to ask him to do it!!! It always makes us laugh.

Ollie, The model

Ollie has been really into taking pictures. I am assuming it's because I'm constantly taking them. But now I have to wait while he finds the right pose. At Max's baptism we took  pictures of all the grand kids and Ollie threw out some fierce poses that even Tyra would be proud of!

The Bapitim

I know I've been talking about Max a lot lately but it's been a big month for him. Last Saturday Max got baptized a member of our church. I'm pretty sure most people are LDS who read this blog but I will explain just in case. Basically we don't baptize  until your at least 8 cuz we think it's an age where you can be more accountable for you actions. And we think you come into this world sinless so why baptize a baby? Well the day was a great day full of many emotions. Max had a lot of my family(both sides) there to support him. I shed some tears throughout the day but the actual dunking Max did me the favor of being funny so I was actually giggling. As soon as his body entered the water he started to swim to the center. Then he turned and waved to the crowd of people. After that he looked up to the mirrored ceiling and gave himself a wave. It was pretty cute. Scott said the prayer and dunked him under and Max started swimming again.  It was so great cuz it was so him.  I asked Max what he thought of his big day........
He said " good". Max the man of many words.

Max's Special day

Max 's Birthday was so much fun! We have a lot of fun traditions in our little family. A couple of years ago Grammy gave us a"birthday box". What's that you ask? Well it's a box that has everything for a birthday...decorations, cake, candles etc. This year I updated it with some Ruthy crafts. Like the new Birthday banner, a crown and a birthday plate. The boys start the morning by jumping through their bedroom door with streamers all over it.
Of course you get to pick your favorite meal. Which Max LOVES pancakes(no whip cream) and chocolate milk. You also get to eat off of the Birthday plate.

The day was extra special because his best cousins came down from Arizona to celebrate with him! Then you get to wear the Birthday crown all day.(to school if you want)

Max picked lemon cupcakes with purple frosting.(his favorite color)

The girls and I brought them to his class. I forgot my camera, what a chump. Luckily i had my phone! We also brought him lunch and hung out with him on the playground.

Mrs. O Rourke asked Max to introduce his friends, he stared at them and said uhh, I really never know whose who. The girls said even their 3 year old sister can tell them apart. At lunch I asked the girls to show Max how he can tell them apart. Then Max said wait, Xanthe always starts the fights and Xoe always complains. My eyes got big and then Xanthe sadi Thats actually right. Then we all laughed really hard.
It was a fun day! For the night we planned on going to D-land with just Max , Husband and I. Max really wanted the girls to go. He was so sweet. He said "mom disneyland is always there. Xoe and Xanthe arent." So we took them with us. I am glad we did. It was SOOO much fun. The really love each other. Max said it was a perfect day.

Happy Birthday Max!!!

Today my baby turns 8!!!  Yikes, every birthday he has just reminds me that I'm getting older too. This is obviously a big year for Max- he gets to be baptized and he is starting cub scouts! I have been an emotional wreck. I have a love/hate relationship with milestones. Well let me tell you about my first born!.....
- Max was by far my largest baby, 9lbs 5 oz and 21 inches!!!! His birth was not an easy one. He still is on the larger size. He looks like a 10 year old.
- Max was my easiest baby. He was very mellow. He hardly cried. He loved to sit on a bed and just stare at the ceiling fan.(i miss those days) Then he turned 18 months and turned into Mr. energy.

-He has always been very friendly. He Is NOT shy. He will talk to anyone, go up on any stage and loves to make people laugh. He is infamous at the Brea plunge. (which may be a bad thing) I get stopped in Brea all the time by people asking Aren't you Max's Mom? Thanks Max for helping my social life.
- Max has a tendency to go in his own world(I think he gets that from Scott) You may think he is not paying attention but he will surprise you.(sometimes)So watch what you say. When Max was 3, my friend and I were talking  about some hardships that were going on in her life and Max very calmly from the back seat of the car said, Sarah don't worry, It's a GOOD world out there. He actually made us cry and feel better. Cuz he was right, it is a good world.
- The picture below we were trying to rake a grand kid picture and NO one was cooperating. We told Max to hold onto Rocky and don't let go. And the boy NEVER let go. He ended up holding onto his foot, as Rocky was screaming for dear life. I realized that Max will always take his job seriously.
-Did I mention how funny Max is. He is very creative too. When he was in preschool, he had a fundraiser to sale cookie dough and instead of calling up our friends and family he wrote a song. So we brought his mini guitar and we knocked on their doors and he sang his punk rock song called buy my cookies. It pretty much was him pounding on the guitar singing, IF WANT TO BUY MY COOKIES, YOU CAN BUY MY COOKIES, JUST GIVE ME  10 DOLLAAAAAHHHSSSS!!! Needless to say he sold a lot of cookies. I am actually sad that i didn't have a blog to document his Maxisms, cuz he ad A LOT of them.

-Max's likes are...Video games, Pokemon, adventures with Dad, pancakes and Xoe,Xanthe& Jacob  (his cousins) His dislike- homework, too many foods to name(he is really picky), cleaning his room and watching the same movie twice.
- Max I could go on and on about you. You were my first and you will always be special to me.(yes I'm crying) I have learned so much from you. I am very lucky to be your Mom. You make me so proud. I love you.
