The Brown Reunion

This was hands down one of the best reunions I've been to. I couldn't decide if it was because we got to borrow my parents motor home or if it was the location of the reunion. It was really nice to not be in a tent, especially since Harper was teething/double ear infection and up screaming all night. But he was pretty happy during the day. The reunion was at a church owned property called Warm Springs( in Nevada). It was SO AWESOME! You camped on grass, not dirt, so no dirty kids. There was a river that ran through the campgrounds that was warm and shaded with palm trees. I felt like I was in Hawaii. They had a huge pool and play grounds. Not a lot of people came cuz it was during the school week but it made it seem more low key and fun. I would love to come back here for sure. I asked Ollie and Max what he liked best....
Ollie- going swimming in the pool. Finding the others(creepy)I think he meant cousins.
Love, Ollie
Max- I liked playing with cousins and going on an adventure with Dad.

A Family pic in front of the glorious motor home.
Uncles Sam trying to get Ollie to sat his name.
I love this picture, Max is so happy and Tiahna(spelling?) looks dead.
Harper loved the golf cart(almost as much as grandpa)
All the cousins going on rides with Grandpa.

The warm river, pretty huh?

This was one of the games they played at the pool. You tried to collect as many balls as you could. I love that Rocky just had 2 and you can guess where he put them.

Rocket Races

So I am way behind on some events in the Schultz house. The first being the Rocket race at Cub scouts. The whole house was excited for this one. All three boys made a rocket(the third boy being Scott, not Harper) They styled their rockets into the coolest shapes; Max made his into a dagger, Scott's was a pencil and Ollie's was just a golden Rocket. But Ollie named his Rocket "The Golden Sean". Where he came up with Sean' I will never know. While the boys rockets had in design it lacked in speed. Max was like in 4th place(out of 7). I kept telling him it's not about winning, it's about having fun. Which he replied, Mom can't I want to do my best though? Uhhh... yes you can, I guess. Just so you future Mom's of cub scouts know i was wrong, It is ALL about winning.
                                                                         The Pack

This is his look of total disappointment. Max we promise it is ON for Pinewood Derby!

They let Ollie race the "Golden Sean". He lost big time.

I think I cheered him up by this point. These things really are a good lesson on how to be a good sport.

My Mothers Day

I had a really great mothers day! Did you? Husband went out of his way to make the day nice. It started out with Breakfast in bed, the boys love this part (me too). Then they all gave me their presents. Ollie made a corsage out of tissue paper, it was really cute. Max's class made a Recipe book with family recipes, I loved it. Then Scott let me go back to sleep(the best gift of all).
At church they did the cutest thing in the program, they asked all the kids questions about their Mom. I couldn't wait to read what my boys had to say.
1. What is your Mom's favorite food?
Ollie- chicken soup and ravioli with hot sauce   ( I do like homemade soup)
Max- She barely eats the food she makes us ( is this cuz he thinks I'm starving myself or is it that the food I make is so bad, I can't even eat it.)
2.What is your Mom's favorite chore?
Ollie- cleaning the dishes (wrong)
Max- She makes us do all the chores (say what?!)
3. What is your Mom's least favorite chore?
Ollie-Cleaning up all the toys (Very true)
Max- She makes us do all the chores  ( How I wish this were true)
4. What is something your Mom always says to you? ( most kids said I love you)
Ollie- if i watch a movie pass 9 pm, she says "go to bed" ( I do say this)
Max- "Video game time is over" (I say this too)
5.  What  is something your Mom does just for you?
Ollie- If I do a chore, I can pick something out of the "Schulbuck" store
Max- Does something for me. ( I didn't get this one. He told me later that I do a lot for him, just nothing that was interesting)
So according to my kids I'm an anorexic slave driver who likes hot sauce.
After church we went to the Schultz house, where the men made us dinner. I got my favorite Island tacos(yum-yum). Then Grandpa took all the kids to deliver corsages to the Moms in the neighborhood. They had a blast doing this. It was such a good day, I love Mothers day.

Play Date with Magnolia & June

Ollie and Harper had friends(Mags and June) come into town. My friend, Julia, has been traveling with them on the road for a couple of months. So they get pretty excited to have buddies to play with. Ollie was especially excited to play in her home which was a tour bus!! She had a bunk she slept in with her own TV! He wished he had a bus to live on too. After the playing, I was able to see Magnolia's Mom and Dad play at the Glasshouse. They were amazing! I would put their latest album as one of my favorites of last year. If you don't have it yet, I highly recommend buying it. Check them out here.
This was a in depth game of follow the leader
Even Max had fun playing with them.

Harper and June discussing the state of the economy.

Camarillo part 2

After the beach we went to the BEST restaurant for families. It's right off the beach and you eat at picnic tables on a large grass lawn. Then right next to the lawn is the largest sandbox ever. SO the kids just play and play while you enjoy your dinner. The food was good too. Of course I can't remember the name of the place. Nan will you leave a comment with the name.

Spring break

A little late I know, but better late then never. During spring break we went on a little vacation to Camarillo. We stayed at the Steimle Bed and Breakfast. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend it. It's cheap(free), The food is amazing, beds are comfy, they have a jacuzzi bathtub and you couldn't ask for finer hosts. The first day we spent going to the beach. It was perfect weather. And I have to say it is so nice having the Dads at the beach, way less stress for the Moms. Look at everybody playing, having a good time!

Rocky, right in the middle of a pant-pull-up. He would pull his pants all the way up to his nipps.
Harper and Piper in the man made baby pool. Harper was giggling like a schoolgirl in there.
