davy update 2012

As you know, Davy spent the first part of the month sick and in the hospital. Then she recovered only to get a nasty cold from me. We have kept her away from crowds pretty well but I can't keep her away from me when I get the sickies. major bummer.
Then, to top things off this sassy child has been pulling out her mic-key button and then popping it!! We have gone through 3 in 2 weeks!! Do you know what that means? We have had no back ups buttons. The second time she did it, I randomly lifted her shirt to see a gaping
hole in her tummy. I shrieked and went on a massive manhunt for that thing. How long had it been out even? That stinker throughit behind my bed, after she popped it. Luckily we got her to Choc quickly, so crisis adverted.
SO, being that she was sick and had no back up button, we decided not to take her to my family Christmas party in Pahrump, NV. Scott stayed behind while I took my 3 hoodlums to party with cousins. And then on New Years day, Miss Davy decided to prove our intuition right by pulling out a third button. She really likes keeping us on our toes. As soon as she can get to it she starts tugging. We are trying to figure out why, like maybe she needs a bigger button, or placed in a different area? For the time being, I am looking for some 2t onesies, do they even sale them that large?

On another note, Davy received a Christmas package today from her cousin, Mila. How cute is this hat?!! She also got a cute bow clip. best. present. ever. I am trying to convince my niece, Melanie, to sale these bad boys, What do you think, would you want one?

cheeky monkey!
Have you tried some oversize regular singlets (undershirts?) not sure what you call them in the USA and then pin or sew at the crutch so she can't get to the button?

Ugh, just lost a long comment so I'll brief it up. Have you thought about a non- balloon mic-key? My son has one and he hasn't been able to pull it out yet despite the constant tugging on it. We have a balloon one for backup, but the non- balloon lasts about a year. Just thought I'd delurk... Love your blog and that Davy is adorable!!!

no clue what to tell you on the mic-key.

As for the hat, I think she should make one and you could do a giveaway on your blog and she could SEE how many would buy one. I love them! So cute. (both the hat and Davy)

Hobby Lobby (randomly) sells really cute onesies in larger sizes. They have plain colored ones and then zebra print other fun things. If you don't have a store nearby, their website is great. (Plus you can always print 40% off coupons from their facebook page.) Good luck!

The children's place had size 4 T onesies a few years ago that I bought for my tubie girl! Now I have to have my MIL sew them for us. That cracks me up that she pops the balloon. Miss smarty pants. She is such a doll.

Target has 24 mos onesies. I haven't seen bigger than that, but for sure 24 mos. :) you can sew a cute gathered skirt into them, with a "belt" that makes it longer in the torso. I've done it, super cute dress, onesie style!!

I used to get up to size 5 onesies at Babies R Us! They also sell those extended that snap on to the crotch and make it longer. I also know there are adaptive sites that sell bigger onesies.

You can use these to get use out of onsies that are too small/short. They are super useful.

Children's place! They have tons of onesies up to size 5 - and they are cute! Not as cute as Davy, but pretty close.

I didn't read all of the comments. I know for sure Carter's sells 24 month onesies. And maybe it's time to give up on dresses and go for a tomboy overall/ romper wardrobe. Oshkosh has a ton of overalls and is starting to come out with spring rompers. Of course, I love dresses, but this could be the best thing for her??
