twenty eleven......i will survive

This is what it would have looked like if we got all dressed up to celebrate the new year a comin. I think we were actually wearing PJ's. I am pretty sure Scott went to bed at like 10 and I was watching a really cheesy karate(kung pow) movie with my Nephews.
I was thinking all day of some New year resolutions and I came up with..... surviving. I am going to survive 2011. And I will make sure that my kiddies will survive 2011 with me. Now if I could do this with a smile and a little less complaining, then I will consider that a bonus resolution. So far we are three days into the new year and 4 out 6 of us has had the stomach flu. I was on clean up/ laundry duty, booyah. Luckily, Ms. Davy was not throwing up, just a cold for her. That was me being positive and I was in no way complaining about the clean up duty, I was merely stating a fact. I hope you had a splendid new years, what did you do? Do you have any new year resolutions that don't involve you losing weight and being healthier?

My blogging resolution was to light my photography better, especially indoor, no more 1600 iso grainy low lit slow shutter speed for me. Either flash or bring in some more lamps to light it.

P.s. got the Christmas card, Thanks!

Personally, I love that you have narrowed your resolution down, and that it's a totally attainable goal. Work it lady!

Spending less useless time in the internet.

By the way, don't you love having a washing machine? Imagine you would have had to do it by hand.

My New Years resolution is to "pay it forward" everyday. Doesn't have to be anything big....just doing something kind for someone..everyday. Holding a door, carrying someones bags, etc.

My new years resolution is to stay present, with my kids, me and my life. I am 36 weeks pregnant and anxiously awaiting the arrival of our little girl. As a mom its easy to go about our days mindlessly just to get through. This year I resolve to stay present and enjoy the little moments in life.

I have resolved to walk my kids to school so I can get some much needed excersise... and to take MORE showers for ME. Other than that, I'm good. Oh, and I rang in the New Year with 4 kids on Medication for The Plague (a.k.a. Pink Eye), and then it happened... The baby girl gets the Ewey Goowey dreaded PLAGUE. Poor thing! Now I have to fight her to get her head to stay still and open her eyes to get the goo into them. Man, baby eyes just aren't big enough to keep open... and they are strong too! Her tiny eyelashes get in the way of the medication. Hope you guys have a good year too!

I love your blog. Your family is so sweet. New Year's resolution: Know my limits and be o.k. with those limitations.

We actually had a really fun New Years. We were invited to a "No Kid Party" and we declined. Which felt great! Something I dont think we have ever done. We decided to make this entire season about our kids. Anything that detracted from time spent with them wasnt worth it. So we made a spread of yummy appetizers, bottled root beer and spent the entire night making decorations and noise makers for our count down! We made clocks we could tell the kids to move so we actualy celebrated at 10 instead of 12. It was great! I would highly suggest it. May even become a new tradition of ours. Although, maybe next year I will want to go to the party! Then that brings me to my resolution, be more involved in my kids. Play with them and LISTEN to them! I tend to ignore them without even realizing it. And also Read the Book of Mormon. Sadly, I have never read it cover to cover.

Making sure my foot is nowhere near my mouth. My mouth gets me in so much trouble. Love the pic.

Trying to be less selfish and save money a little bit better. Hey, we all have faults right? Mine is a love for chocolate, Anthropolgy (sales of course!), books, and more books. But if we ever want to get to Disney someday, I MUST practice some restraint:) Cheers to you and yours....Happy 2011!

kudos to Davy not getting the flu. That is a blessing right there! My resolution is to become healthier in my food choices and to become financially healthier!

we spend the new years in bed watching "Only You." boring as heck.

I only have one New Years Resolution, it is to read my scriptures. simple. no time frame no chapter requirements, just read my scriptures every day. Yesterday I almost finished an entire verse before collapsing in bed. The day before I read a whole chapter. yay!

I think I'm going to adopt your resolution. My daughter has already done 5 hours of PT, OT and Speech this week and it's only Tuesday. I will survive, I will survive... I already hear Gloria Gaynor singing it in my ear. I'm just too tired to sing it with her.

I found your story today and I want to tell you, that you are a very strong woman, an amazing mum and a real braveheart. And you´ve got the sweetest little angle with you - her eyes are so cheerful!
I send you the best wishes from far-away-Austria!!
My baby-daugther is just two weeks younger than yours so I´m sure she sends the best wishes to Davy, too!

Simplify. . .Simplify. . .It really is about all the simple things in life. I'm going to focus on that.

My resolution is to not eat so many damn Milky Ways and to not have Traffic Tourettes, especially when Harper and Lola are in the car since their ears are teeny and sweet and I'm a bad mom.

Also, we didn't do anything fancy either for New Years Eve. Well, unless you call folding laundry and beating your 4 year old at Wii Archery (IN YOUR FACE HARPER!! IN YOUR FACE!!!) til he begged for mercy.
