It was bound to happen

Did you know that I was a Hairstylist? I worked in a couple of Salons for like 12 years then quit and did hair on Gabba. Then after I gave birth to my third, I called it quits completely. Well, almost completely. I made a salon in my garage to cut my friends and family's hair. I have to say, I really prided myself in the fact that my boys never tried to cut their own hair...ever. The key word in that sentence was PRIDE. Never pride yourself in anything, cuz thats when the Lord will humble ya. Of course Harper would be the one, right? While he was hanging out with Grandpa last week, he got a hold of some scissors and decided to texturize his fringe. I can see the look he was going for, Pete wentz/ emo kid. I have to say he didn't do that bad of a job. I mean I've seen a lot worse.
So, should I cut his hair Shorty Mcshort or should I just leave it be?

I say leave it be. I just got my son's hair cut super short(he used to have shaggy hair like your boys) and I'm totally having haircut remorse. Shaggy hair is the coolest!

Give him the Ingram treatment. Shave it bald. We just did that to both Jack and Van this weekend.

I love it. He's a stylin' kid at the worst of times! Never seen a self-cut that worked quite like Harper Wentz ;)

Let him wear it; I think shaved heads are way too mature for a young elementary aged boy.

I think it looks pretty cool. haha. Which is funny to say after a kid just cut his own hair. I say leave it.

My son did the exact same thing right before the holidays!! As with Harper, my son did a pretty decent job with it...and it looks ok. I left it alone. His is perfect...I say leave it.

It really does look like Pete Wentz, LOL! I say leave it. He's definitely got enough swag to pull that one off :]

I'd totally leave it.....he didn't do too bad of a job : )

I have to laugh....I tried to give myself "wispy bangs" once. I "trimmed" them wet, and they shrank up to nothing". Its funny now...but was horrible then.

of course your boy would only trim his bangs unlike the awesome cuts you've witnessed on my girls...

Don't people pay tons of money for that look? Oh the joys of having an adventurous tot! My 4 year old has chopped her hair 2 times. We went in and got it evened out after the last one.. I wish I would have just left it - it all eventually grows out anyway!

Leave it be until you can't stand it anymore. When my daughter was around three she got a hold of a pair of scissors while with a sitter and cut some glorious side bangs. I kept exclaiming, "I can't believe you cut your hair!" to which she raised her finger to her lips and told me, "Shh, I have a plan!" Ten years later I have yet to hear this plan but it still remains one of my top stories about her. ;)
