18 MONTHS

That's right, you heard me, Davy is 18 months and two weeks to be exact. She has changed soo much over the past 6 months.
First off, as you can tell from the pictures, Davy is a total chunk now. She has gained 7 pounds over the summer. SEVEN POUNDS!! She has far surpassed her weight goal set by her nutritionist. In June she was in the 10th percentile for her weight and now she is in the 75th!! She weighs 24 1/2 pounds!!! She is also 80th in her height. Talk about a growth spurt.
If she were allowed, I think she would eat all day. She takes after her Momma. Anytime she sees food she comes a crawlin.
She has started to babble. She says gaga, mamamama and bababa. She makes the cutest pterodactyl squawk when she is really happy, like when Daddy comes home.
She is in speech therapy twice a week and can now sign please, more and all done. It is so cute when she signs please, it's usually for food. It kinda breaks your heart cuz any time you eat something she looks at you desperately and signs pleeeeease!

She loves babies. When ever she sees her cousin Harvey, she pats him(sometimes too hard) and says, awwwww. Just last Sunday she gave him a kiss! It was her very first kiss. I have been trying to smooch her ever since but she is just not that into me. She only has eyes for chubby babies.

Davy has recently turned into a baby Hurricane. She leaves a path of destruction where ever she goes. She loves to pull books off of shelves, products out of cupboards and pull anything off the table she can reach. She also loves to throw whatever electronic she can get her hands on, the remote control being her favorite. She loves it when the batteries explode out of it, it's like she won a prize.

Davy is not walking yet but she pulls herself to a stand and will cruise while holding onto furniture. I feel confident that she will be walking by the end of the year. Physical therapy twice a week has been really beneficial for her. We've seen the most progress in this area.
My least favorite Davy quality is that she barely naps. It's mommy torture. She pretty much sleeps like 25 minutes. SO ....kind of a bummer.
And don't be fooled by her cute bow and pigtails cuz she will not leave anything in her hair. I have lost so many cute clips, it's killing me. Please tell me this is a phase.
My favorite thing about Davy is how happy she is. She really is so happy and loving most all of the time. She gives me the best hugs and then pats my back and says, awwww. She will always give you a big smile and a wave, unless you are her ENT trying to look in her ears, then she will rip your face off.

We recently saw Davy's genetics Doctor and she was pretty much shocked by how well Davy is doing. Dr. Z told me that Davy had far surpassed anything she had ever hoped for her.
Wow, it only took Davy 18 months to prove her Doctors wrong. Way to go Davygirl.

She looks just like your husband to me! (Sorry, I always hate it when people say my kids look just like their dad, I did all the hard parts! haha) Davy is such a sweet thing, I feel so connected to you because my fourth is just a month younger than Davy, she looks much taller than him though! haha Congrats on Davy doing so well, that makes my heart so happy!

She is a miracle in the making. Such fun for all of us blog readers to see how much she has changed and grown into a little lady. Love her proving her doctors wrong. Tell her to keep it up!

So happy that she is proving all her Dr's wrong. She is adorable. Hey, I'm heading down to PHX,(that's phoenix for those of you that don't live in AZ)and will hit Last Chance if I have the time. What is Davy's shoe size and I will keep my eyes open for some cute shoes. Do you just want Toms? I'm not promising anything, but I'll look.

I wish I lived in Cali so I could be Davy-girls speech therapist! PS my 18 month old son has finally caught the Yo Gabba Gabba bug and calls it "jump" because that's what they do at the beginning when they come alive. It's adorable.

I love when kids get to the chubby phase! I about squealed when seeing her cute little pudgy arms.. I LOVE IT! She's too cute for words! Sounds like Davy is a rockstar! Some of her antics sound all too familiar... you sure must have your hands full between her and Harper... who BTW reminds me of a nearly 3 year old I live with (he would prefer if I didn't ever dress him so he could see his awesome underpants ALL the time!)

Congrats on all your accomplishments over the summer! I have a cleft boy too, and those milestones are HUGE!! A quick suggestion: My guy wasnt walking by 18 months either. Our PT finally got him a mini-walker and he TOOK OFF! He was walking on his own in about 3 months. And he absolutely love his walker and the freedom he finally had to chase after and run with his brothers. Just a thought. Keep up the good work. It get's easier and easier.

Oh man, this post totally made my day. Seeing Davy's little toothy grin and cute scrunched up nose look. She is off the charts in cuteness! Sorry about the clips. I feel your pain. My baby is 17 months and she pulls everything out of her hair. One second it's there and the next second it's lost and gone forever! I stopped buying cute more expensive clips and now just buy the cheap-o metal clips just to keep her hair out of her eyes. Good luck with that! Thanks so much for posting. It does my heart good to hear that Davy is pretty much saying "in yo face" to all the doctors and proving them wrong about her abilities. She is absolutely thriving! Joy!
P.S. LOVE the pic with Davy and her brother in his underwear. Makes me feel better that I'm not the only mom in the world whose kids run around the house and yard half-naked! My little boy would wear his spiderman underwear for two weeks straight if we let him :)

With or without bows, this little girl is a looker! I love that she pats your back, Ruth and says, "Awwww." Too precious.
