8 MONTHS

I would call Davy's 8th month the recovery month. She went from surgery to ear infections to teething to colds to more ear infections. This month has been brutal, so I can't blame the girl for not learning any new tricks. It seems like Davy has a pattern for doing a lot one month and then chillin the next.
* She did however get 2 new teeth with a possible third coming. She has one on top and one on bottom. I think they are keepers too.
* I think Davy has a wicked sense of humour. She completely sabotaged this photo shoot by
up-chucking on her shirt, right before the very first shot. Classic Davy.
* She grew some dimples. We noticed them after her surgery. Maybe Dr. J put them in. She has one on her chin and one in her smile line. They are so cute....I love them.
* I am very sad to say that Davy is NOT a cuddler. This makes me so sad. She prefers to be held face out so she can see the world. Some times I try and force it on her but it usually ends with her crying and me crying on the inside.
*speaking of crying, she has taking this to a whole new level. Her cry is still on the soft side but now she has started to arch her back when she cries. It's a cute little Davy tantrum.

* The girl can not keep her shoes on. She always manges to kick them off. I have a beautiful collection of shoes going to waste. Not to mention all the shoes we've lost. She started the shoot with some cute grey booties(see picture 3)
So long last month, you will not be missed. Here is to a better, happier month for Davy.

So so cute! I love the look on her face in #3. It's like she's trying to say, "Look mom, I'll to you what's what." So fun and what gorgeous eyes.

Love pic #4 -- would you look at those eyes! wow!

Praying December makes up for a miserable November, and that Davy learns to cuddle.

Fourth photo from top is my favorite....thank you for sharing...I am sympathizing with you on the lack of cuddle...I have 2 non-cuddling babies and it just kills me...it's my biggest excuse to want another.

she looks so happy! babies heal so amazingly. and those big framed lash eyes...gorgeous.

just in case you would be interested, i wanted to let you know about a website our extended family uses and i consider my 'health bible' for a decade- lef.org
they are an amazing research and information resource, and might have some interesting information about Davy's medical condition or the conditions that come with it.

Happy Holidays :)))

I can't remember how I found your blog but I've been following for a few months and love it!! I can't get enough of the adorable shots of Davy you post!

I'm sorry you've all had such a rough month. As a mom of four without any surgeries to worry about I know how stressful colds can be... I really can't imagine dealing with all that you deal with. I hope and pray that your December can be brought with some relaxing and peaceful moments.

she is so sweet.

I have to know...where do you get all her headbands?! I'm dying to know. Of course I have three boys, pregnant with our forth babe {hoping for a girl...expecting a boy...}
:}
You have had a whirlwind of a month, and I've been praying for you and your family, for sweet Davy, your sweet boys, and energy and peace amongst the crazy.

Oh wow! I love pictures of her! She looks so cute! But cute isnt really even a fitting word. Wish I had a better vocabulary to find the word. I also know what you mean about the shoe thing. Seriously, I dont know if lily has ever worn 1 pair of her hundreds she has. They always fall off, either too big, too small, too skinny, too wide....ugh! I will have to say, my awesome sister in law told me about this awesome see kai run sale and I bought 3 pairs. Not gonna lie, I love them. I put them on her everyday. I coordinate her outfit so I can put the shoes on! You gotta get davy some!

I love the photo shoots you do! My little girl just turned 8 months too and you inspired (reminded) me to document it. I forget how precious these moments are!

Her little legs! Those sweet little bird legs! How cute are they, I swear! I'm so sorry she's begun the tantrums. Our Lola (who is the same age as Davy) has started in with the arching of the back, the not wanting to cuddle, the "let me down" and then "no, pick me up!" stuff. Thankfully, Lola is #6 so I have help. (Oh and I have a 4 year old boy named Harper. Weird huh)

I hope the colds go away. Being sick during the holidays is The Suck!

Can't wait for more posts about your cute lil family. You make me miss California. 2.5 years in Utah is killing me.

Gorgeous-gorgeous-gorgeous! But you already know this! I have twin boys that are almost 17 now, one of them was injured as a baby, head injury actually. My "Cuddle" baby turned into a "Turn Away" baby. I wonder if it's sorta the same. Maybe the way they process? Sounds too. But now he's 16 and if you met him you wouldn't be able to tell anything happened to him. Not that he doesn't have issues or problems, he does. From the time of his accident he became a different baby, we couldn't go by the 'normal' anymore. What I mean is, a baby usually follows a pattern, 1st the roll over, then the crawl, with my son we just had to watch him as he made his own way. I think this will be the same for Davey. Shes beautiful and you can see in her eyes that she has "Spunk" - "Moxy"! Davey will make her own way! As you watch and be amazed! >>>God Bless<<<

What a beautiful girl!

I also had a non-cuddler and at 4, I cherish the random hugs and snuggling I get.

I think it's because of the GERD and acid reflux she had as a baby that she also wanted to be held but not cuddled. Also, she always wanted to face out and watch the world.

So funny because she never wore shoes and always managed to kick them off. I can't tell you how many times I would be in a store in the winter and Eve would be bootless and someone would ask where her shoes were. I would point to the cart basket. She could keep them on only to we got to the car and then soon enough they would be off and I would repeat the process when I got home.

Here's to a blissful December for your family!

She's so sweet! I love your blog and I have never posted. But last night my 10 month old Renn and I watched Yo Gabba Gabba from 11pm-1am after he had been crying with a terrible cough and it calmed him completely so I just had to thank you. We watched a Christmas episode from 2007 over and over and it had a cute little Ollie, I hope Renn is so adorable!

As the mother of two (soon to be three), I must be completely frank here and say that I think Davy has the prettiest eyes I have ever, ever seen. A person could just get lost in them, and with all those eyelashes, might never find their way out again!

So glad to see she's doing better :)

Those are definitely the most beautiful eyes I have ever looked into. Good job, Mom.

My son kicks off his shoes all the time too. I got him some Tommy Tickle shoes (online at Kohls - they don't have them in the store) and they do not fall off. My husband made fun of me because I gave them as a "Santa" gift, at a family party, instead of a toy but the the other day he commented on how well they have stayed on. Yeah me :)
