ollism19

So I have mentioned that I'm knocked up? Well I am. So please forgive me for anything I do or say for the next 9 months. Anyways, Ollie is really interested in the whole pregnancy thing. He is always asking a ton of questions.....
Ollie- Mom, I know how you get pregnant.
Me- ( crap, here it comes)Oh really? How? (I am know holding my breath waiting for his answer)
Ollie- You have to get really fat.
Me-(exhale) Yes that is exactly how you get pregnant. So basically 70% of the world is prego in Ollie's eyes.

Ruth, I hope you don't mind me peeking in on your blog this morning. I hopped on over from cjanes. What a gorgeous mother you are, and what a beautiful baby Davy is. I was so touched reading about her journey, and all you guys have been through the past little while. Wow.

I loved looking at all those cute onesies and shirts you put Davy in. SO RAD!!! Do you make those? Oh my goodness, she's already so stylish :)

I loved your little comments on how much you adore her clefty smile. I too have a special place in my heart for these special little grins. My first and second sons were both born with clefts. I cried when the boys finally had surgery to correct their little mouths- I know it sounds strange, but perhaps you understand a bit. I loved their little mouths. Those widesmiles were what I fell in love with, were what I first came to know on my babies. It didn't seem fair to have to change them "for the world". I'm over that all now, but it was a very real, and actual sadness I had at the time. Actually Davy's little mouth reminds me so much of my Johnny's at birth.

You guys are in my prayers. I pray that her little heart may get better and that her surgeries ahead will all go well.

I have a little daughter now, Alice, who's very close in age to Davy. Alice does not have a cleft, but it was so cute, as I was just looking through your blog right now, Johnny was on my lap and as we were looking at the adorable pictures of your Davy at 5 months, Johnny points and says "Is that Alice?". He did not even see Davy's cleft (or maybe he does not see that Alice does not have a cleft). I love that.

I am sorry for the long comment- I didn't know how to email you. If you ever want to email or chat, or just have someone to talk cleft stuff, my email is fowlerfamatgmaildotcom. Hang in there. Hugs, Anna

PS- Jimmy (my oldest) had a "tooth" that came out in his gumline as a newborn too. Scared me at the time, but it turned out to be fine.
