We are home....finally

SIX days, six loooong days we were in the hospital. Davy ended up having the flu as well as the UTI, so she was pretty sick. By day six, I asked for Davy to be released. She hadn't thrown up in a day and half and she didn't have a fever. It was getting to the point where Davy would freak out if anyone in scrubs would walk into the room. She was getting no sleep because of constantly getting checked and we would get a new roommate every night. I guess I should say middle of the night as they always seemed to arrive at 3 in the morning.
So I made a mother executive decision and took her out of that place.
Which people usually say, mother knows best, well sometimes we don't. Cuz Davy started throwing up right after we got home. I was so bummed out. I really thought I made the right decision, then I thought maybe I was just ready to come home.
Long story short we didn't go back. She so far she hasn't thrown up today. So I think she is on her way up. She is still really lethargic and just wants to be held. But that I don't mind, i mean who wouldn't want to cuddle up with this chunk?

I might need to stalk (find) you on instagram! Glad she's doing better. Hospital roommates are the worst. Anytime of day!

K so because I don't understand why does she have to go to the hospital when she pukes? Sorry to sound ignorant, I just do not understand.

Jocelyn,

Davy is adrenal insufficient, that means she doesn't make the hormone to fight off stress of any kind. So when she gets sick, stressed out, or surgery, her body shuts down and goes into crisis mode. Which can cause death. She takes medication 3 times a day for this. But if she's throwing up there is no way to help her except an IV. Not an ignorant question at all. I explained about her health when she was first born but haven't gone into details about it for some time

Glad you are home and Davy is on the mend! No place like home.

On a side note: My 4 yr old son saw the Nightline interview. The journalist who was introducing the segment said, "Yo Gobba Gobba" which cracked my son up and he so wanted to correct that woman. Now, he goes around the house saying, "Let's watch 'Yo Gobba Gobba!"

Glad you're home with Davy. I could look at photos of Davy all day long. She is so precious. And you, my dear, don't take a bad photo either!
I'm sure it's nice to have the family all under one roof again.

Home again, home again--jiggity, jig. So happy you are home and get to snuggle with your girl and sleep in your own bed.

On an unrelated note, I love your headboard.

Hi Ruth.. :-)
I love the picture of Davey pulling the bandage (I think that's what it is?) off her arm...the determination on her face is priceless.. :-)
I hope you all get some well deserved rest at home.

p.s mummas always know best, I have taken my kids home from hospital stays a little early just so they can get well, no sleep doesn't help sick tiny bodies..you did the right thing...x
